The monster

 

crawl into - 에 기어 들어가다

Jack crawled into the tree house.

 

peer out[in] -   밖[안]을 응시하다

She was peering out the tree house window.

Below were the tops of the other trees.

 

porch - 현관

Jack could see their white wooden house with its green porch.

Jack glanced around the tree house again.

 

bookmark - 서표, 책갈피

stick out - 튀어나오다

He noticed that bookmarks were sticking out of many of the books.

 

turn - 넘기다

He turned to the page with the bookmark.

 

reptile - 파충류

Jack turned to a picture of an ancient flying reptile.

 

odd-looking - 괴상하게 보이는

soar - 날아오르다

through - ... 사이로

Jack studied the picture of the odd-looking creature soaring through the sky.

 

glide - 미끄러지듯 가다

above - 위에

A giant creature was gliding above the treetops!

 

crest - 볏

beak - 부리

bat - 박쥐

It had a long, weird crest on the back of its hea, a skinny beak, and huge bat-like wings!

 

swoop - 급강하하다

The creature swooped through the sky.

 

glider - 글라이더

It looked like a glider plane!

 

crouch - 웅크리다

Jack and Annie crouched on the floor.
